Nestled in a quiet corner of Speyside, The Glenrothes Distillery has been crafting some of the world’s finest whisky since 1879.
A place with many stories to tell. A place of pride, dedication, and above all, a place of whisky.
Matured only in first fill sherry seasoned oak casks, bottled at natural colour at a strength selected by Master Whisky Maker.
There’s still plenty of typical Glenrothes character here, but strangely, despite it being delivered with an addition 8.8% ABV over the 10 and 12 year old expressions.
Nose: Aromas of resin, rich candied peel and fresh oak.
Palate: Rich and spicy with creamy vanilla and orange peel.
Finish: The palate builds to a long and fruity finish with more orange peel and a twist of nutmeg.
Jim Murray has scored this Glenrothes Maker’s Cut 95/100 in his 2020 Whisky Bible, describing it as ‘A sublime burst of rounded grape, sweetened marginally by the odd busy significant strand of molasses; spices move into position early on'.
