A great introduction to the Glenfarclas style. For those that enjoyed sherryed whisky.
Glenfarclas is a true star of the whisky world, having been at the hands of the Grant family since 1865, having opened in 1836.
This Glenfarclas is a sherried whisky with plenty of fruit, Glenfarclas 12 Year Old picked up a “Best Sherried Whisky” award at the 2006 Single Malt World Cup.
100% Oloroso sherry cask muturation. An excellent introduction to the distillery style - for those who enjoy a sherried whisky.
This is a nice step up from the 10 year old, but remains very affordable.
Enjoy neat or with a drop of water.
Nose: Light and creamy, gentle and well-balanced, with hints of smoked oak.
Palate: Medium bodied full with notes of date. Unsurprisingly, Oloroso sherry feature as overall the palate is rich with toffee apple and a touch of smoke.
Finish: Spicy and long, notes of spice, cinnamon and cloves, with... sherry!
