La Galera was created by Jose Arnaldo Blanco, known as “Jochy”, a Dominican tobacco grower and cigar manufacturer with decades of experience in the industry.

Based in Tamboril, in the Santiago region of the Dominican Republic, Jochy has spent much of his life cultivating, processing and working with tobacco.

His factory, Tabacalera Palma, has become the home of La Galera and produces premium handmade cigars using tobacco grown and processed in the Dominican Republic alongside carefully selected international tobaccos.
