Tasting Notes

Lovely smooth easy smoke, the construction is good, the flavors a bit flat, in the sweet-earthy profile. A small cigar with big boy characteristics.

I gave up smoking cigarettes a few years ago. I have only recently started with cigars, and smoked a few different grades, looking for a corona sized mild smoke, most are a little harsh but, this KDT Cadetes is the smoothest smoke I have found. A little hard to draw but satisfying an eminently enjoyable.

This cigar has such a superb look to it and feels so great in the hand for its size! But, I have to admit the taste is not something I was too fond of. I am unsure if I got a bad blend of the bunch but there wasn't much sweetness at all and got a little harsh towards the end. What has scored this a 3 star rating is how well made and superbly presented it was.

I was very eager to smoke this after the good reviews but unfortunatly it was not nice,.It has a nice looking wrapper but the smoke is very linear and its not complex with flavours...persoanlly i did not like it after you smoke a good cuban cigar with its complex flavours this stick does not please....good for beginners perhaps

This particular Cadates was a song. The brand has somewhat suffered recently with tight draw issues which has damaged the reputation of a few of its cigars as "unsmokeable". Could do with being put away for another year to fully bring out the flavours. However, I have had many a Fonseca and when you get a good one, it is a joyous occasion! The Construction and draw was superb throughout giving off a decent body of smoke for its size. Quite surprisingly the flavors built from a very woody and rich start in the top third, progressing to a sweet dark cocoa, yet balanced well by the well known nutty-earthiness associated with Fonseca. It finished with a creamy sweetness that suited my morning coffee, thinking to myself what a wonderful way to start a day. Overall, a very underrated Cuban and somewhat justified being that they are hit and miss, but if you are one of the lucky ones to take a chance, you will be very highly rewarded. Moreover, at only 6 pounds it is a bargain. HSHH.

The draw was a little tight to start with but quickly opened and, overall, very pleasant smoke. However, I should add that my wife insisted on opening all the windows! Nevertheless, I have enjoyed this cigar.
