Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.
I bought one of these based on the previous reviews that I had read and was looking forward to sitting out on the deck with a coffee and enjoying this cigar.
I was surprised when I removed the paper coating to find the stick was quite veiny and the seam of the wrapper was quite prevalent. Nevertheless, I cut and toasted (narrowly missing the remains of the cap peeling away) and then sat down to enjoy this smoke.
Initially, I found the smoke harsh on the soft palate and back of the throat. I was getting a strong saltiness which wasn't unpleasant but the harshness was distracting from the flavour. Just as it began to settle down and get a bit more mellow, the burn began to grow increasingly uneven. The ash began to droop and then after only about an inch of the way down, it went out completely.
I relit and continued but very soon thereafter, the burn became uneven again and a dark colouration started to develop halfway down the wrapper. It didn't lose the bitterness either. And then, another half an inch and it went out again!
At this point, I was cursing myself for not lighting a Hoyo de Monterey Epicure #2 or an Inka secret blend Azul blue petit corona. I therefore decided to leave it at that after only twenty minutes and not bother trying to light it again. At least the coffee was still warm.
Most disappointing.
