Reviews

Customers say
Customers generally find this Davidoff Lancero to be a beautifully constructed cigar with excellent burn and draw, often praising its rich, complex flavors. While many consider it a truly delicious and memorable smoke, some find it surprisingly harsh or peppery, and there are mixed opinions on its aging potential and current value given price increases.
Best suited for experienced Davidoff enthusiasts who appreciate a complex, medium-strength profile with a potential peppery kick, and are willing to invest in a premium, discontinued cigar.

Ive had one of these in the humidor for a few years now and decided to give it a try today. I only wish I had done so sooner so I could have bought a box. This is a really delicious cigar. Excellent construction, medium in strength and flavour. Well done Mitchell and Davidoff. You did a great job with this one.

Sorry, but no. This was the last of my Davidoff Dominican Selection sampler, and the one I was deliberately saving until last. It was also - by a country mile - not only the most expensive of the four, but quite the most expensive cigar Ive ever smoked (and probably ever will). The thing is - and Im as sorry as I am surprised to be saying this - it was also by far my least favourite. Objectively, the build and smoke were absolutely a match for the usual high quality I associate with Davidoff. Subjectively, however, unlike the smooth-and-light-to-the-end Davidoff Signature No.2, which was the first of the four I tried (and the least expensive, though still a pretty penny), this was harsh and overly peppery. Not typically qualities I associate with Dominican cigars nor Davidoff. Sadly, I couldnt finish it. Just goes to show: you dont always get what you pay for; I shant be paying for another.

What a cigar! This is my favourite cigar to date. Wish I had discovered them at the £20 tag but I am still going to get more. I prefer these to Behikes or Talisman. On my palate it references Grand Cru #2 but with each flavour making its presence more known Going to try the Liverpool edition next!

These were £19.99 just 2 years ago. I thought I should add an extra review after carefully aging some for a couple of years (in cello at 65-67% RH and a steady 64-68C). Sadly, they seem to be rapidly losing flavour, richness and complexity, not gaining anything. Theyve lost all traces of that wonderful marzipan and champagne-esque sweetness that made them stand out originally. Most surprisingly, some of the hints of cream have faded also to become more dry, especially on the finish. For me, theyve lost a point now for their loss in flavour, but I also have to take off a second point due to the enormous price inflation.

I’ve not had a bad Davidoff cigar, I’m not sure they exist! Wonderful, in the garden this afternoon for a relax during these difficult times and with the sun out to play. Pricey yes, smooth yes and a delight plus it didn’t go out once in over an hour
