Dalmore 25 Year Old - 42% 70cl

First released in 2013, Dalmore uses a completely unique cask finish to create their revered 25 year old.

The 25 year old showcases the dedication and creativity of Richard Paterson in his pursuit to find incredible casks for The Dalmore.

Wood Portrait:
Matured initially in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, the whisky is carefully divided into rare hand-sourced 25 year old Palomino Fino sherry butts and 1980 first fill bourbon casks.

These exceptional whiskies are then expertly married together in bourbon barrels before being transferred, for the final time, into Tawny Port pipes from Portugal, for a totally unrivalled finish.

Nose: Exotic fruits, citrus, vanilla pods, treacle toffee and fig cake.

Palate: Madagascan vanilla pods, thick treacle toffee and chocolate truffles,

Finish: Maple syrup, dark chocolate and spiced gingerbread.

Hugely attractive with a sherry-trifle signature; a glossy delivery with the accent very much on fruit, plums in particular; an attractive degree of sharpness throughout; just a little dry with a tell-tale tang towards the end; the kind of neat and tidy, if imperfect, whisky which, were it in human form, would sport a carefully trimmed and possibly darkened little moustache, a pin-striped suit, matching tie and square and shiny black shoes. 42%
