An old style Dalmore 12 Year Old Single Highland Malt Whisky by Whyte & Mackay.
How the packaging has changed for Dalmore? This black and gold label dates from the 1970s and was imported to Italy by Liquorama.
This golden mahogany Single Malt was matured patiently in oak for 12 long quiet years until it 'reaches perfection'. Distilled, aged and bottled in Scotland by Whyte & MacKay Distillers Ltd.
Nose: A rich aroma full of chocolate, marzipan and dark plums.
Palate: The chocolate continues onto the palate which again is rich from the chocolate as well as cinnamon providing a spicy hint.
Finish: Citrus, predominantly orange, vanilla and cinnamon can be picked out on the long finish.
Jim Murray has scored this Dalmore 12 Year Old 1970s Whisky 90/100 in his 2020 Whisky Bible, ‘Malt in its own right it can overcome any hurdles placed before it to ensure a real mouth-filling rumbustious dram.’
