Aged aromatic Oloroso and Madeira butts provide great backbone and a structure of crushed almonds and rich citrus fruits. The rich Port and Marsala woods add hints of wild berries and fleshy plums. .
Displayed in an exquisite gift box the luxurious Dalmore King Alexander III aged malt is the result of perfect maturation in a variety of wine casks.
To this day, the Stag still adorns each and every bottle of The Dalmore!
Wood Portrait:
Spirits matured in ex-bourbon casks, Matusalem oloroso sherry butts, Madeira barrels, Marsala casks, Port pipes and Cabernet Sauvignon wine barriques are combined in perfect harmony to create a uniquely complex, yet smooth single malt.
Nose:
Red berry fruits, fresh flowers, passion fruit.
Palate:
Citrus zest, vanilla pod, creme caramel.
Finish:
Sweet cinnamon, nutmeg.
Jim Murray has scored this Dalmore King Alexander III 86/100 in his 2020 Whisky Bible, ‘starts brightly with all kinds of barley sugar, fruit and decent age and oak combinations, plus some excellent spice prickle.’
