I picked up a consignment of Cusano robustos on the way back from a trip to Asia. I wasn’t sure what to expect, as the low price suggested a somewhat inferior cigar. I was pleasantly surprised. So much so, in fact, that this is now my go-to regular cigar for a below 1-hour smoke. Smooth, good draw, great even taste and always well put together. They come pre-punched, which I thought might affect the flavour, but they really are consistently good. Overall these are great, affordable smokes and better than any of the petit coronas that I’ve tried. That’s just my preference for a bigger 50 gauge, so each to their own. Cuba is rightly admired for its fine tobaccco, but I would always suggest to people to try to broaden their experience of different brands, tobacco types and countries, and these Dominican offerings are well worth trying. Recommended.

This was my first Dominican Cigar so I had high hopes, the end was already pierced but still had a good draw, so it did not need cutting. smooth and peppery to begin with. It began to burn uneven about 1/4 down, but I corrected it and kept an eye on the burn. the wrapper began to give to tiny splits, but this did not cause too much of a problem, the final 3rd produced cherry flavours combined with some woody, earthy notes. All in all, not a bad Robusto for the price, the burn needs to be carefully monitored throughout to ensure it burns even. Will continue trying others before buying this one again, but this earned four stars.

These cigars have a very smooth texture, woody and mild flavour getting strong near the end, a very enjoyable cigar. This cigar also goes well with a glass of Laphroaig Single Malt, the cigar compliments the already smoke and peat flavour enhancing each other in flavour and aroma.

didn't like this much, rough, sharp and as a result overpriced.
