Many years ago, the man, the icon and the legend that is Richard Paterson took it upon himself to develop a malt whisky designed to compliment the finest Cuban cigar.
The Corriemhor whisky should be deep and sweet with notes of caramel, deep fruit and rich Seville oranges. With that being said, it should also have a creaminess with gentle butter notes to compliment the peppery smokiness of the finest Havana.
To achieve the perfect cigar, cask selection is critical. The whisky, from an iconic distillery was matured in a combination of American bourbon casks (50%) and sherry butts (50%) from Pedro Ximinez resulting in perfection!
Bottled at 46% with no colourings or additives. Un-chill filtered for maximum enjoyment with a superb packaging design created to evoke images of Cuba, the home of the cigar. The Corriemhor, created specifically to complement the finest Cuban cigars was Richard Paterson's first cigar malt.
A single malt scotch whisky, matured in both American oak and sherry casks, it has a rich fruity sweetness which contrasts perfectly with the dry deep fragrant smoke of the best cigars.
Colour: A beautiful depp colour, as result of the sherry maturation.
Nose: From the master himself, Richard Paterson, he notes the nose has a mouth of blackcurrant jam and chewy butter caramel.
Finish: It's fruity sweetness compliments the dry deep fragrant smoke of a Cuban cigar perfectly.
