The release of this iconic Cohiba vitola represents the first time a cigar house has been invited back into the Reserva fold. The first time Cuba’s flagship brand appeared as a Reserva was in 2003 (box dated 2002) with a box which offered a variety of sizes (Cohiba Seleccion Reserva) and which included the iconic Robusto vitola. Given the outstanding reputation of the cigar which was the first to be commercially named after the Cuban factory reference for a cigar measuring 4⅞” (124mm) x 50 ring gauge, thus making the term “Robusto” a common term to all in the cigar world, it is no surprise that it has been chosen to be immortalised again as a Reserva some 15 years.
Cohiba Robusto Reserva uses only the very finest tobaccos that the island has to offer. Once harvested, the precious leaves are aged in bales for three years prior to being rolled. This helps to produce mature and well-balanced aromas which remains faithful to the classic, unmistakable Cohiba flavour.
As with all Reservas, quantity is limited. Only 5,000 numbered boxes each containing 20 cigars are released for the world market, so supply of these exceptional cigars is at a premium.
