Bulleit Bourbon is inspired by the whiskey, pioneered by Augustus Bulleit over 150 years ago.
150 years later, Augustus' great-great-grandson Thomas E. Bulleit Junior decided to revive the bourbon recipe which had held such importance to the family for so many years.
Its high rye content gives the Bulleit Bourbon a spicy and bold character which is unique to the brand, with added smoky flavours from the American oak barrels it is aged in.
Their various whiskeys differ in rye content, ageing time and blend, and each has its own complex flavour notes. If you are a whiskey lover or even a novice, you are guaranteed to love Bulleit.
Packaged in an old-style bottle, Bulleit whiskey has developed a loyal following in the UK. Only ingredients of the very highest quality used - the subtlety and complexity of Bulleit Bourbon comes from its unique blend of rye, corn, and barley malt, along with special strains of yeast and pure Kentucky limestone filtered water.
Due to its especially high rye content, Bulleit Bourbon has a bold, spicy character with a finish that's distinctively clean and smooth.
Nose: Rich and spicy - with warming notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and clove. Crème brûlée topped with Demerara sugar and a hint of fruit from dried apricots and grapes.
Palate: More spice before softer notes of dried fruit and sweet spice follow. Toasty and nutty, with fruitiness to soften out the edges.
Finish: Well-balanced mix of sweet spice and warming rye.
