Created using hand-selected casks to produce a refined whisky, Bowmore’s Vault Edition Peat Smoke is matured in the famous No.1 Vaults, enjoying a unique alchemy that cannot be found anywhere else.
The second in the Vault Edition series showcases Bowmore’s perfectly balanced smoky character with notes of peat embers, burnt wood and old leather intermingling with indulgent toffee, sweet fruits, smokehouse beef ribs, a hint of mint and a light, salty finish.
The name of the series pays tribute to the legendary warehouse of the Bowmore Distillery, where the casks are stored under the influence of the sea breeze on the Isle of Islay. This "No. 1 Vaults ", whose basement vaults are below sea level, was built in 1779, so it can look back on a history of 240 years.
Nose: Peat, sweet, rich, toffee, leathery, with herbal hints of thyme, rosemary and mint.
Palate: Sweet sherry, sticky fruits, BBQ smokehouse and volcanic ash.
Finish: Sweet, creamy with a light mineral finish.
