Bolivar Britanicas Cigar (UK Regional Edition - 2012) - 1 Single

My first stick out the box was a disaster. The cigar was completely plugged and I only just managed to light it. I gave up after 10 minutes as the experience of trying to smoke it was becoming unpleasant. I put it under the tap in disgust and put it in the bin. It was very disappointing considering the price and also that I have been patient and left them sitting for a year before sampling. I selected something else that evening. The second stick was better but had an uneven burn through out and I had to keep touching it up. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the smoke. I found it medium to strong with rich sweet black coffee undertones moving on to dark chocolate and very smooth. I'm sure I've been unlucky with the first 2 out the box and I'm considering buying more. I'll base my decision on whether to purchase more on my third smoke from the box and maybe do an updated review some other time.

This is a truly delicious cigar. It's like a full Sunday roast squeezed into a velvety wrapper. I'm glad they went up to the 48rg as feels exactly right in the hand. Smokes beautifully and tastes like the best of Cuba. 1 criticism though, I've had 3 boxes and there do seem to be a few in each box that the wrapper is peeling away at the foot. Doesn't affect the experience though.

Ok... based the first and third cigars from my box of 10, this is an outstanding smoke. Rich, complex and smooth, with a fantastic, even burn. Seven left and they're going to sit and age a while.

Good or bad? Well it depends if the damn thing is plugged, or not. First (of box of 10) a first class, rich, smooth Bolivar. Second one was like trying to draw on a welding rod - completely plugged. There's no excuse for this, damn things aren't cheap. I mean, it's not like the Cubans have anything else to do. I'm buying a pipe.

Damn good cigar. Start of very mild but after the first inch or so the flavour develops. Hints of sweet black coffee burst through. Great construction and draw all the way from start to finish.
