Air Dried refers to the way the wood has been made ahead of being turned into a stave and ultimately a cask.
For this release within the Contrasts series we use American Virgin oak, meaning it has not previously held any other liquid and is the first time this wood is being used to mature the Benromach spirit.
The wood has dried outside for 2 years in the American sunshine in the US state of Missouri.
When interacting with the Benromach spirit, this results in sweet vanilla fudge, toasted cereal and citrus blossom characteristics.
Nose: A richly complex whisky with spicy aromas, followed by layers of toffee, citrus zest, and gently smoked oak.
Palate: The palate reveals black pepper, toasted oats, and a refreshing menthol note.
Finish: Delivering a balanced and memorable tasting experience.
