A new edition of BenRiach's 12 Year Old Sherry Wood expression, which is matured in sherry casks, bourbon barrels and port pipes for at least 12 years before being married together to create a smooth and rich expression.
The combination of Sherry casks and bourbon barrels gives a wonderful balance of mocha and dark chocolate interwoven with figs, sultanas, vanilla, fruits and rich spices.
Bottled at 46% ABV, The Twelve takes all of its colour from the casks, with no artificial tinting.
Nose: Cooked apple drizzled in crème de cassis, brown sugar and zesty orange.
Palate: Fig, blackcurrant jam, apricot, slowly building Christmas spice and continued vanilla.
Finish: Soft ginger root spiciness.
