ALADINO
"This is a true classic old fashioned cigar" Julio R. Eiroa
Aladino embodies every word in that phrase. This cigar is a "Puro" of authentic corojo grown in the JRE Tobacco Farm in Honduras from original Cuban seed of Corojo.
It's flavour characteristics are unique to its kind that brings you back to the golden era of cigars in Cuba from 1947 - 1961 with its traditional sizes.
JRE Tobacco is a family-centered company, founded by Julio R. Eiroa and his son Justo M. Eiroa, together they manage all aspects of the cigar growing and manufacturing for your enjoyment!
Farming for these cigars starts at the green house and ends for them when they bring down the tobacco leaves from the barn. Curing and aging is their expertise and distinguishes this brand from the rest of the industry. After this process, the tobacco is put through the next stage of slow oxidation and degradation of carotenoids, that gives properly cured tobacco its sweetness, bringing the characteristics and most important its uniform taste, so that they can give you consistent quality and great tasting cigars.
The aging process can range from a period of 18 - 24 months after the harvest.
SUMATRA
Julio and Justo began experimenting with Sumatra in 2016 - the same time they began growing Cameroon. This is the first year they have released a blend with their Honduran-grown Sumatra. This is one of the aces that they have been keeping to themselves and are introducing to showcase their capability to master their expertise in growing multiple and sometimes challenging tobacco varieties.
Aladino Sumatra shines light on a younger side to Aladino. With the fourth generation getting more involved, a more modern play on box design felt like a natural progression for the brand, while keeping the traditional Aladino band and elegant presentation. This is the first Aladino cigar blend that does not have the iconic Aladino image in the inside of the box.
The dark Sumatra is bolder and punchier than their regular lines, offering those who longed for a fuller Aladino cigar something totally different yet still balanced and full of complexity.
You can expect earthy notes with a natural semi-sweet sweetness of baker's chocolate and cedar.
91 / 100
"The toasty, leathery smoke of this matte-brown cigar is balanced by sweeter elements of caramel, raisin, cinnamon and brown sugar. A note of almond emerges before the nougat-like finish. It draws well and the combustion is even..."
