It has to be said that Aberlour is one of our favourite distilleries thanks to the excellent A'bunadh.
Introduced in 2008, this 18 year old is now one of the stars of the range: rich and fruity, with a smooth texture.
Greater age adds body and a rich raisin character to Aberlour’s characteristic depth and spiciness.
Matured in the highest quality casks, where it develops deep Bourbon and Oloroso Sherry flavours, this is the richest and most indulgent Aberlour expression.
The Aberlour 18 year old has been a previous winner of a Gold Medal & Best in Class at the International Wine & Spirit Competition.
Perfect in structure and memorably eloquent!
Nose: Rich and complex notes of toffee and butterscotch combine with ripe peach and bitter orange.
Palate: Perfect structure. Initial notes of soft apricot and cream are offset by developing flavours of blackcurrant jam and sweet oak with a touch of honey
Finish: Very long and balanced, progresses from crème brûlée to a gentle oak flourish
Thick milkshake with various fruits and vanilla; immediate fresh juice which curdles beautifully as the vanilla is added; wonderful fruit-chocolate fudge development: long, and guided by a gentle oiliness; another high performance distillery age-stated bottling. 43%
