Bought this for a two week camping trip and it was ideal - there's a quite heavy-duty grate in the bottom so the base doesn't even get warm. It's much safer than a 'normal' ashtray to leave standing on the ground or a table etc outdoors, and with the lid screwed on a cigar can safely be left in it…
