This limited edition release celebrates the Islay Jazz Festival and was only available to purchase at the distillery.
Good, crisp Lagavulin with a decent complexity and plenty of richness.
One of 6000 bottles, this is bottle number 939.
Please note as this is a vintage bottle, conditions of bottle/label and liquid level can vary - Some years can vary as estimations only (example: estimated 1970s/80s).
Nose: The nose is surprisingly fresh and the emphasis is on vanilla and lemons. The salt kicks in after a few moments.
Palate: A veritable peat bomb. While again very sweet, there is also lots of smoke. Pear, lime, flowery honey and a bit of liquorice.
Finish: The finish is quite long, with vanilla and some warm peppers at the death.
