Ramon Allones Extra (Limited Edition - 2011) - 1 Single Cigar

I bought a 25 box of these in 2014 and let them rest 3 months before trying one. The first one was a powerhouse, and the trend followed with 4 more that followed. On some the presence of ammonia could still be detected and the only pleasing flavour that I could pick out was extremely dark chocolate, nothing to write home about. Every time I opened my humidor to pick out a cigar and laid eyes on the box, I felt a sense of loss. Well, that has now been put to rest as the one I'm smoking on New Year's Day 2017 is quite a revelation. I am a big Partagas fan and this delivers some Partagas flavours and more. Still a bit dark but very pleasing. I'm glad to have left the box alone as the cigars are truly opening up. The way this one is smoking reminds of why I love cigar smoking!

What a wonderful cigar, an earthy musky smell upon opening the box. They lit quickly and smoked nicely with a smooth flavour, lasting between 45 minutes to an hour.
