    JOSE L. PIEDRA

José L. Piedra is a particularly noteworthy Havana not only because its blend is composed of filler tobaccos grown exclusively in the Remedios tobacco region (formerly called Vuelta Arriba), but also because it is made using the ‘totalmente a mano, tripacorta’, or ‘totally hand made, short filler’ technique.

The Piedra family came to Cuba in the 1880s from the Spanish province of Asturias. They settled near the town of Santa Clara, which lies at the heart of the Remedios region where tobacco has been grown since the 16th Century, and started to make cigars.

The family’s second generation led by José Lamadrid Piedra, whose name is commemorated today, founded and developed the brand.

All of the José L. Piedra sizes are made from Remedios tobaccos using the traditional ‘tripa corta, totalmente a mano’ – short filler, totally handmade technique.

    CAZADORES

Immediately you will notice the distinct, somewhat rustic, medium to full taste of the Remedios tobaccos in these cigars. A cigar for the great outdoors.

Reviews

Customers say
Customers generally find this cigar to offer excellent value for a Cuban, with many praising its pleasant, earthy, and sometimes spicy flavour profile. However, a significant number of reviewers highlight inconsistent construction, leading to frequent issues with draw and burn, making it a somewhat polarizing experience.
Best suited for those seeking an affordable Cuban experience who are willing to overlook occasional construction inconsistencies, or for those who enjoy a medium-bodied, earthy smoke as a regular, budget-friendly option.

I did not enjoy this experience the draw took to long the second half was better ( a depth their with a lth sweetness to the after taste)... but if you have to implement more than a cigar punch to get a decent draw you have to at some point blame the construction and question the purchase.

The worst cuban cigar I have tried so far. Weak and tight draw. Almost no flavor. Feels and smokes very cheap. I could not finish a single one of these, I threw 3 sticks straight in the bin. Do not buy. Mitchellero robusto is better smoke at this price. Being Cuban shouldnt always justify the purchase.
