Arnaldo Ovalles has been in the cigar business for
the past 13 years, where he has progressed to category 9, the highest grade
a cigar roller can achieve.
He presently works for El Laguito, a very famous
cigar factory, located in the district of Playa, within the capital
Havana.
Arnaldo's experience with cigars began in 1994,
after starting a cigar rolling course he quickly moved on to the world
famous Romeo and Julieta factory.
Two years later, Arnaldo was already teaching on the
same course, an activity that he kept until 1998.
He progressed to cigar rolling manager and then in
2000, he was promoted to production assistant director for Romeo &
Julieta.
During Arnaldo's career as a Torcedor (cigar roller),
he has travelled the globe representing the Cuban culture and art of
tobacco rolling,
visiting countries such as Turkey, Sweden, Norway,
Australia, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia to name a few.
