Herman Upmann was a banker from Germany who so loved Cuban cigars that he moved to Havana in 1844 and set up as both banker and cigar maker. His bank closed in the early 1920's but his cigars live on as a fine example of an elegant, light to medium flavoured Habano.

H. Upmann's blend is composed exclusively of filler and binder tobaccos grown in the Vuelta Abajo zone.

Gold medals in no less than eleven international exhibitions during the 19th Century can be found on the brand's labelled boxes.

Like its predecessors, the cigars have been box aged for between 5 to 8 years in the perfect climatic conditions of Cuba. This will afford the cigars a mellow, more refined taste as the blend of the filler leaves meld together over time realising their full potential.

The cigars are presented in dressed boxes of 25 and carry a second band to identify that they are AÑEJADOS. There is also a sticker on the box lid and like other Habanos Specialities, supply is limited to the quantity initially laid down to age.

An absolutely stunning cigar that I thoroughly enjoyed for New Year. Previously Upmanns that Ive smoked have been generally pleasant and mild, but the earthy, smooth taste of the Anejados was certainly a pleasant surprise. Smooth, heavy smoke, even burn and a silky taste right to the end has put this cigar firmly in my top 20.

First let me thank H. Upmann so much for this uniquely pretty cigar. A forest of beauty and a variety of dishes and tastes, a garden of flowers and scents, complementing and harmonizing the feeling. medium body, the draw, burn, and constrection are amazing. Varied bouquet of Flavors, aromas, and after tastes.. Such as ... grassy, earthy, woody, leather, coffee, nuts, chocolate, dried fruits, Lychee fruit, and creamy smoke. I will make sure keeps a large number of these woooow fancy sticks in my cigar humidors. Thank you so much C.GARS , Michelle Adler for all excellent choices and services. ✨

Remarkably, doubtless due to advancing years, and a severe adiction to Call The Midwife, I find myself thinking This is a damnably fine cigar the Commander has sent from Monaco, I shall punt a review over to Cgars. Only to find that I reviewed same exactly one year ago! Well, friends, its a good review and I stand by it. But there is detail to to add! Oh yes. Back in the days when Walkabout was made, everything was more fluid. The outback was lawless. But some of us held personal standards of taste and propriety above jurisprudence, or imprudence. My film company was a place of freedom and safety. Anyone who thought to take advantage of a beautiful young actress, like Jenny; or worse, a handsome young actor... would feel that sharp rebuke of my voice, and if that failed, the cold muzzle of my Webley. But I digress: it was the scents of those nights, deep in the bush; deep in the darkest reaches of that awful continent, that I remember so clearly to this day: the aroma of camp fires, of ritual singing and dancing, of the pure intimacy of life in the bush. The intense heat, the long nights of deepest darkness and love more scented and felt than seen. It is that that the Upmann Añejados evokes: a quality of being; an intimacy between lovers, a scented evening that must end too soon; an era that may never be recovered. Yet it is here, in the ethos of this cigar: something almost lost; an essence... Oh, Jenny!

The Upmann Aňejados. A class act indeed. Reminds we of when I was shooting Walkabout. After a long session in the bush, Jenny and I would relax with a few cold ones and review the footage.it was a real rush. She would massage my aching limbs - the aversge handheld weighed around 350lbs in those days. And tbe combined sweat of her, me, and tbe aboriginal boy.knocking out tbe hits of the day on his diggeree, well, its all here.
