Tomintoul Aged 40 Years has slowly matured in 4 carefully selected American oak hogshead casks in the most perfect of conditions.
Tomintoul Distillery is beautifully situated, adjacent to the village of Tomintoul, the highest village
in the Highlands of Scotland, in the Glenlivet Estate at the heart of the prestigious Speyside Glenlivet district.
Bottled at cask strength and without chill-filtration, the delicate but complex expression represents the crème de la crème!
Just 500 decanters were produced and each one is individually numbered, each being presented in a stunning Tomintoul branded presentation box with crystal glass decanter and stopper
Nose: Delicate but reassuringly mature. Mixed fruits dance with the gentle barley-sweet
malt that is buttery and creamy. Hints of pineapple waft invitingly.
Palate: Subtle yet exquisitely complex as summer fruits and buttery toffe intermingle with
refied notes of coffe, liquorice and lemon Sherbet.
Finish: Gentle oaky-spice swirls with sweet liquorice.
Jim Murray has scored this Tomintoul 40yo Quadruple Cask 86/100 in his 2020 Whisky Bible, describing it as ‘Some lovely malty moments still, as well as butterscotch.’
