Another stunning expression produced by Chugoku Jozo for the Togouchi range, who age their whiskies, unusually in an old railway tunnel comes this 12 Year Old Japanese Blended Whisky!
Located close to Hiroshima, Chugoku Jozo has been producing a range of liquors, sakés and schochus for almost a century now before making a change in 1990 where it was decided to finally release its own blended whisky.
The whisky is matured in oak barrels for 12 years to produce its peaty flavour, suitable for both beginners and whisky connoisseur's alike.
Nose: Attractive notes of pear, pine nuts and peach.
Palate: Powerful and well balanced with complex flavours of white pepper, malt, cereal and delicate violet.
Finish: Dry and lingering with a good focus and character.
