One of the oldest operating distilleries to date, Strathisla is a key component in the Chivas Regal blend.
1970 was an experimental year at Strathisla but this bottling is their regular, straight down the line whisky, matured long and richly coloured.
This 1970 vintage Strathisla was bottled by Gordon and MacPhail of Elgin as part of their distillery label range.
Nose: Rich - Christmas cake, rum-soaked raisins and demerara sugar linger throughout the nose stage.
Palate: A further Christmas cake aspect with marzipan, a hint of warming spices and vanilla.
Finish: Long & lingering with sweet mincemeat and a hint of smoke.
