Springbank Green is one of two expressions from the distillery in the Campbeltown region, introduced in the latter half of 2014.
It is a 12 year old single malt Scotch whisky, nicknamed green as the distillery itself doesn't have the right certificates which is why the whisky can't be called organic which is where 'Green' comes from.
It’s matured entirely in bourbon casks and bottled at a more than satisfying 46% ABV. Springbank is preparing a 13 yo Green for next year, matured in sherry casks.
Stock Limited to 1 Bottle Per Customer.
Nose: Fresh and aromatic with coastal and earthy undertones, perhaps a little peatier than usual but still a fantastic offering. White peaches, citrus, green apple, vanilla cake and soft pepper.
Palate: Starts bright and citrusy, then some creamy barley and vanilla biscuits. Honey then appears as overall the palate becomes oilier and ashier on to some grapefruit zest, walnuts and youngish cereal notes with a slight bitter tang.
Finish: Medium long with grainy notes, lemon and salt combination and liquorice.
