Featured Distillery of the Month


There are over 120 active distilleries spread across Scotland, which are split into five whisky-producing regions; Campbeltown, Highland, Islay, Lowland and Speyside. The location of the distillery can have a big impact on the flavour and produce some of the finer nuances; everything from the water, the weather, the environment and the peat can play a part.

Each month we will be featuring a different whisky distillery by highlighting the very best of the "water of life" from their ranges. We invite you to learn about each of these wonderful birthplaces of our favourite spirit and sample the best they produce.

Distillery of the Month: Springbank

About the Distillery:
Established in 1828, on the site of the Archibald Mitchell’s illicit still, this distillery is based in Campbeltown, the once proclaimed “Whisky Capital of the World”.

The distillery is now in the capable hands of the fifth generation of the Mitchell family, using traditional production methods. The team is greatly involved in every step of the whisky making process, ensuring unrivalled quality and control over the product, making Springbank the most handmade whisky in Scotland, as 100% of the process is carried on site.

With marvellous passion and skills, the distillery is producing three exceptional single malts: Springbank, Hazelburn & Longrow.

Week 1: Springbank 12 Year Old Cask Strength 2019

With two releases per year, this single malt is always bottled at cask strength, making the abv different on each release. Buttery toffee and sherry notes, with a rich and balanced sweetness, definitely a very pleasant treat!

As this is a highly collectable single malt, we advise our whisky enthusiasts to buy two bottles so they can enjoy one with their friends and family and keep the remaining one.

This is also one of our Whisky ambassador’s favourite single malt.

Week 2: Longrow Peated

For every peaty whisky enthusiasts, this is truly an exceptional gem, full of power and character. Well balanced, heavily peated single malt, with rich and creamy notes and a medicinal hint. Long and lingering finish.

Week 3: Hazelburn 10 Year Old - 70cl 46%

A triple distilled single malt, achieving a light, subtle and fruity spirit. Notes of baked apples, vanilla and honey notes. Lovely richness and a creamy, oily chocolate finish that lingers on the palate.
