Rattray's pipes are made from the highest quality briars and are available in many beautiful classic shapes. They are crafted with all the care and know-how of the world's oldest pipe companies.
A Carnyx is an old Celtic wind instrument, almost two meters in length. The 'bronze trumpet' was shaped like an S, the end often styled in the shape of an open-mouthed boar's head.
The sound was fear-inducing, so it was often used in warfare, but also in ritual celebrations, where it could send the listener into a trance. One or the other intoxicant may have been used to intensify the experience.
If you add a few grams of tobacco to your new Carnyx pipe, the inner calm is just a few puffs away.
Comes with two mouthpieces so it can be used at home and on the road.
Presented in an original Rattray's pouch and box.
This pipe has been individually photographed, so that the pipe you see in the picture is the pipe you will receive.
