Turmeaus Tobacconist (Est. 1817) acquired the well established cigar shop previously known as Tobacco World at 34 Watergate street, Chester in 2004.

After completely refurbishing the cigar store and adding a purpose built walk in humidor we are delighted to welcome customers old and new to browse the enormous range of New World premium, hand made cigars.

The cigar store also stocks a wide range of pipes and tobaccos as well as smokers accessories including Dunhill humidors and lighters and Peterson and Meerschaum pipes. Local mail order service with pleasure or pop in and relax in an armchair with your favourite smoke or perhaps try something new. If it's a tobacco product we sell it!

Sara

Sara, the Retail Operations Manager for Turmeaus stores across the UK, joined with the C.Gars and Turmeaus Tobacconist at the end of 2014 and has very quickly become a fantastic addition to the team.

Sara lives to find the perfect pairing of alcohol and cigars but her tipple of choice has always been Champagne! Sara is loving trying the selection of New-World and Cuban cigars but lately Sara has enjoyed smoking the new Orchant Seleccion line of Oliva cigars, who could ask for a better introduction into the cigar world?

Janelle

Janelle joined the Turmeaus team in October 2015. Janelle is a non smoker but has very quickly becoming an expert in hand rolling and pipe tobacco, she also appreciates the aroma of hand made cigars. Janelle's hobbies include spending time with friends and family and watching tennis and football. Janelle is also Karen's daughter keeping as we are a close family business!

Annie

Annie has been in the tobacco trade since 1979 and worked in our Chester store for many years, prior to its being purchased by C.Gars Ltd in 2004. She now only works part time, but her decades of experience make her a mine of information. She likes chocolate, cigarettes, Sudoku and other puzzles (Usually all at the same time!)

Good afternoon,

Have just visited your Chester shop and what a wonderful experience we had. Chad and Calum were brilliant and even though they couldn't supply me with the cigar I wanted the alternative they suggested was lovely. Steph was very knowledgeable on the drinks side and my partner left with a bottle of rasberry gin. We had a wonderful experience today and your staff topped it off with their knowledge and obvious enjoyment in what they do. Can't wait to go to the puffin rooms in Oct.

I just wanted to say what a great job your doing with your shops. I visited Chester last week and the staff couldn't of been more helpful, friendly and informative. The bar is a great idea, loved the range of rums and it meant the wives didn't mind how long we spent in there- and that was quite a while !The range was amazing and no matter how long I took to pick my cigars I never felt under pressure to hurry up, it was that good its worth us planning a trip to Chester again round visiting the shop. I also visit Knutsford and the shop manager Andrew does a sterling job with advice and recommendations- couldn't be more helpful. Its great to see a return to specialist shops- something that seemed to almost disappear along with the service that went with it.

Coming from London I am used to good places to buy Cigars and also some good places to smoke them. When I found myself in Chester I came across this Cigar shop. The range and quality was second to none. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. There was a fantastic area inside to sit and sample the cigars. The only downside was I went there too early as I understand they are looking to get an on licence so you can enjoy a quality whiskey or two with your cigar. A must visit if you are in the area.

Mitch's social media like his service is 24/7 which is a nice touch as I think he appreciates people who appreciate his passion. This shines through in their customer service also. I also visit their Liverpool and Chester stores where the service is impeccable. All in all a pleasure to do business with!
