There are 3 main ingredients for making Laphroaig — Barley, Water, and Yeast, but the secret ingredient is the People.
Laphroaig is the story of a community. An uncompromising, tough and determined group of people who ensure that this defining whisky remains true to its origins.
Bottled by Douglas Laing, this 21 Year Old was distilled in November 1987 and bottled January 2009 from a refil hogshead.
One of 439 bottles, Laphroaig 21 Year Old is a non-chill filtered Single Malt Whisky, meaning the whisky retains it's original colour, aromas and taste.
Please note as this is a vintage whisky, conditions of bottle/packaging/label and liquid level can vary.
Nose: Intensely dark and oceanic as overall the nose is big, burnt and beachy.
Palate: Carries liquorice, seaweed, iodine and tar - all softly.
Finish: Peat dominates as creosote and tar all follow, overall the finish is a complex one.
