A no age statement single malt whisky from the Miyagikyo distillery in the Miyagi Prefecture.
Characteristic of their expressions, this Miyagikyo single malt features plenty of interplay between spice and sweet fruit notes - should serve as a good introduction to Japanese whisky.
Nose: Full flavoured and rich. Initially concentrated iris notes hint at the extreme intensity of the nose. It then develops aromas of malted barley and fruit,
Palate: Malted barley at the heart of the palate, coated in herbaceous, liquorice, spiced (ginger, cinnamon) and chocolate tones.
Finish: Long, soft. It evokes the scent of wilted roses. Fine tannins balance its tangy character (lemon, grapefruit).
