In the mid-1960s Gordon & MacPhail took the unprecedented step of launching a range of single malts under the brand name 'Connoisseurs Choice'.
Until this time, many of the whiskies the range featured would not have been available as single malt.
Today, 'Connoisseurs Choice' retains this exclusive nature with a range of rare and sought after single malts from distilleries throughout Scotland.
Millburn was the oldest of the three remaining distilleries in Inverness that were all closed in the 1980's.
The two other distilleries in town were the Glen Albyn and Glen Mhor distilleries.
This 5cl miniature provides a great insight into what this Millburn 1971 Connoisseur Choice Whisky has to offer with savoury notes, light peat and nutty malt notes.
"Please note, due to age and evaporation some miniature may be short filler."
Nose: Big with plenty of sweetness building gradually over time.
Palate: Smooth and sweet with a little sherry, malt and smoke. A pinch of peat and spice.
Finish: Relatively long with aspects of the nose and palate, such as the peat and sherry continuing throughout.
