WRAPPER
Olancho San Agustin, Honduras

BINDER
Jamastran Valley, Honduras

FILLER
Piloto Cubano - Dominican Republic
Jamastran Valley, Honduras
Ometepe, Nicaragua

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN
Hand-made in Honduras

The story of Macanudo Inspirado begins in 2014, after more than one year of development of the blend and packaging, under the auspices of the International Hand-Made Cigar team of Scandinavian Tobacco Group.

The process began with the shade-grown Olancho San Agustin wrapper tobacco that grows in ideal climatic conditions which lead to the expression of essential oils on the leaf. When processed, the natural oils contribute to the cigar’s unique Rosada appearance, earthy flavour and medium- to full-bodied aroma.

To achieve the uniquely and complex medium- to full-bodied taste, the flavourful Olancho San Agustin wrapper was combined with a spicy Jamastran Seco binder and a blend of Honduran, Nicaraguan and Dominican tobacco. The Nicaragua Viso tobacco, used in the filler, is grown on the fertile volcano island Ometepe in Lake Nicaragua and gives strength and spice to the blend. The Piloto Cubano from Dominican Republic gives the cigar a sweet tone till the last puff of smoke . The result is a blend that provides you with a unique smoking experience that develops and celebrates the nuances of this marriage of various tobaccos.

Macanudo Inspirado has been developed for the international palate and is presented in a more contemporary eye-catching packaging Macanudo box than ever before. A handsome newly designed box which pays homage to the Macanudo heritage. The warm orange colour scheme on the box celebrates the Rosada wrapper from Olancho, San Agustin valley in Honduras.

You will be inspired while enjoying Macanudo Inspirado.

Nice looking cigar, feels OK in the hand but nothing to write home about. I rarely bother to think about the pre-light flavour, altough when I smelled the foot this cigar had an alarming note of ammonia. This smell mercifully did not translate to the smoke. Decent burn, no relights, no special attention needed (I did touch it up but it would have done fine without). Very satisfying quantity of smoke. The draw was ideal for me, although naturally that depends on where you make the cut. The one issue I had with this stick was that it burned slightly too hot for my liking: an enthusiastic draw was definitely felt on the lips toward the second half of the smoke, and the nub was slightly longer than usual when I decided I was finished with it. Strangely, the retrohale really didn't bring much to the table with this cigar, and, given the aforementioned heat, retrohaling wasn't all that pleasant anyway. I smoke slowly and saw this stogie off in 45 minutes, making it a perfect lunch hour smoke. Even the most leisurely smoker would have to really work at it to stretch this to an hour. Now for the tasting notes. First third: A luscious note of dark cherries or sweet wine, which persisted throughout, along with some lovely sweet woody flavours. Second third: The cherries and wood are joined by some bitterness and creaminess. Warm, toasty notes of cocoa and medium-roast coffee develop. Last third: Increased, floral (but not perfumey) sweetness and more woodiness. On my very last puff (before it got too hot for me) there was a strange, salty note, almost tomato-like: wonder how this would have developed if I'd continued. All in all, a gorgeous little medium-full bodied smoke, ideal for when you want more than a cigarillo but don't have time for a bigger stick. Middling nicotine content.

A nice sized cigar for a quick smoke. I found the pre burn fragrance was really pleasant! I could have smell the wrapper all day. The burn was a little erratic down one side of the stick for the first 40-50% but it caught up on its own after 25 mins ( which I was impressed with ). I nice medium / light bodied cigar of predominantly wood ( in my opinion). I couldn’t link the flavour of this Macanudo to a Trinidad Reyes what so ever, nor in body / strength, it was more PUNCH esc if I had to pick any. A nice smoke never the less.

Very nice, I would whole heartedly recommend this. I got a lovely floral character from this, I remember that it reminded me somewhat of the Trinidad Reyes. Perfect cut, perfect burn, perfect construction, perfect smoke.
