The name Macanudo, originated in Cuba in 1868, originally came from a vitola of the Punch cigar brand – the Punch Macanudo was the most popular size in the United Kingdom for many years. Due to the ‘dollar controls’ during World War II, United Kingdom could no longer import goods from Cuba, and hence the Macanudo shape was made in Jamaica at the Temple Hall Factory.

Macanudo Café as we know it today, was introduced in the United States in the early Seventies of the previous century, where it quickly became the best-selling hand-made cigar.

Every Macanudo Café is hand-made in the Dominican Republic and is wrapped in a Connecticut shade wrapper, which covers an elegant blend of Dominican and Mexican tobacco and a binder that is cultivated in the fertile regions of San Andres Tuxtla in Mexico. Only extensively matured tobaccos are used to ensure that each cigar always has the same familiar, mild aroma.

Every time you light up a Macanudo Café you can rely on the same leisurely and pleasant experience. The Macanudo Cafe produces the same distinctive and characteristic mild fragrance for every smoke.

Certainly not a bad cigar. Starts of creamy and smooth before developing slightly to caramel flavours. A little bland for my liking, but well constructed and a fairly enjoyable smoke. Got a little too peppery for me halfway down.

I really enjoyed this mellow cigar which got fruitier as it got shorter. Started a continuous smoke at 4.20 pm and it lasted until 5.03 pm., remarkable. So a great value little cigar, im about to order more.

Just got this little cigar in the post yesterday, decides to smoke it today. The wrapper was a little cracked but still smoke able. After cutting the cap the wrapper started to unravel very quickly having only cut into it shallow. That said this was a great tasting and really enjoyable smoke that had nice peppery tones and was reminiscent of a medium bodied classic Havana cigar. Such great value too. Was just let down by quite a dry wrapper probably just an anomaly.
