First distilled in 1973 Longrow is a double distilled, heavily peated single malt produced at Springbank Distillery and was first created as an experiment to make a peated whisky in Campbeltown, but today it has become very popular, thanks to its brazen, muscular character.
The 2017 release of aged whisky from Longrow – the heavily peated malt made at Springbank in Campbeltown.
The 18 Year Old is a sought-after favourite – rich, smoky and sweet with notes of smoke, dark chocolate and ginger.
Limited to 1 per customer.
Nose: Sweet with pear drops and light marshmallows. Roasted pine nuts and creme brûlée followed by a very buttery cheesecake base with a soft liquorice note.
Palate: The sweetness continues on the palate; with hard boiled toffee sweets, caramelised sugar, sticky toffee pudding, nougat and fresh cream with hints of charred embers.
Finish: Lovely and rich: dark chocolate followed by coffee beans, liquorish, viennese whirls. This is rounded off with the signature Longrow notes of coastal sea salt flavours and gentle smokiness.
