Very few official bottlings of Linkwood make their way out of the distillery and it's thanks to releases like this 1972. that we get to see for ourselves just how well the spirit has aged over the years.
Nose: Full with notes of toffee and dry wood as hints of mixed peels as well as mocchaccino are also present. A sweet note from honey rounds the nose off nicely.
Palate: Big, yet smooth in delivery with luscious sherried notes which pour through calvados and citrus zest. The acidity from the citrus balances with oaked tannins.
Finish: Long with espresso, amaretto and notes of mocchaccino and oak tannins.
