A single Speyside malt whisky from Knockdhu (AnCnoc) distillery, bottled in the 1980s.
After the 1980s, the whisky from the distillery was soon re-branded at AnCnoc, to avoid confusion with nearby Knockando.
Knockdhu Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is currently bottled under the Gaelic name anCnoc meaning "the hill".
Please note as this is a vintage whisky, conditions of bottle/label and liquid level can vary.
Nose: Barely noticeable peat notes, subtle oakiness and dried raisins, apricots and dates accompanied by lime and barley sugar.
Palate: Quick burst of smoke, which gives way to fizzy, citrusy notes.
Finish: A heavier spirit than expected, with barley sugar, honey, green pear and star fruits balancing the oiliness.
Jim Murray has scored this Knockdhu 12 Year Old 94.5/100 in his 2020 Whisky Bible, describing it as ‘A more complete or confident Speyside -style malt you are unlikely to find'.
