A 2015 addition to Wemyss' blended malts range, Kiln Embers is of a similar theme to the company's first smoky whisky - Peat Chimney, but with double the amount of Islay whisky in the recipe.
Kiln Embers is non chill filtered and bottled at 46% and is named after the Whisky's natural flavours and aromas.
Nose: Opens with citrus and smoke - a little bit meaty too with sweet cure bacon.
Palate: As you would expect from a name like 'Kiln Embers', there's plenty of warming, spicy ember notes coming through, also malt.
Finish: Sweet peat lasts and lasts.
