It's said that Johnny Drum ran away from home to join the army during the American Civil war.
Once he returned home he had been granted "Corn writs" and began distilling his fine sipping whiskey from his left over crops.
It's quality shone through and it soon began being known as the best whiskey in the territory.
Since five generations, the Black Label has been produced following the same technique and recipe which is why you can always be sure to enjoy the same good quality with this Bourbon.
At 43% Vol. the amber-coloured Black Label offers a nicely balanced character.
Nose: Honey amber, cedarwood, golden copal, perfume when water is added.
Palate: Corn & rye notes to start... Fades into citrus & cooked maize, classic caramel, vanilla notes, light oiliness.
Finish: Medium length, nutty, minty with hints of dried tea.
