Laid to rest for 16 years in handmade oak casks, this enriched offering is finished in first fill Oloroso sherry casks to impart a subtle fruitful nature and a roundness to the whisky.
Exhaling honey, citrus and spicy cloves. Sherried and full like fruitcake, then dabs of rich dark chocolate and a soothing, mouth-coating finish.
All whiskies carry age statements, longer Aberfeldy has been waiting for first sip.
Nose: Firstly raisins and cinnamon. Then it moves onto butterscotch, caramel with hints of apple.
Palate: Mellow, but not lazy. Apple again at first, which is then joined by clementine segments and honey. A spark of fiery ginger.
Finish: Oak finish with hints of wax.
