Description

From the Chivas Brothers Deoch an Doras collection comes a historic cask strength Inverleven single malt Scotch whisky. The first ever release of Inverleven, distilled in 1973 and bottled in 2011.

Located at the Dumbarton distiller, Inverleven has been silent for over 20 years, although the Lomond still, which resided there, has been acquired by Bruichladdich and given the name 'Ugly Betty'.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Floral overtones and initially relatively minty but mellows with time revealing, with the drop of water, sweet red grapefruit, vanilla and marzipan. Very oak driven.
Palate: Definitely more fruit here, especially grapefruit. There is a slight bitterness of banana peel. Takes water and time.
Finish: Medium to long.

This series targets collectors, people that know what they are looking for in a whisky. The spirit of this whisky after 37 years of maturing is still very much alive with great character. For the connoisseurs.
