This cuvee, produced from an 86-year old vineyard in the northern sector of Eden Valley.
Henschke’s Hill of Grace is one of world’s classics – made with painstaking care from ancient shiraz vines which yield a concentrated, complex and deep wine with superb and proven ageing potential. You won’t find a better example of what Australian wine is all about.
The Hill’s stratospheric prices make the rest of the range seem tremendous bargains - Mount Eddelstone Shiraz especially, which is a slightly less intense, more elegant version – and as you might expect quality is exceptionally high across the board.
Tremendous power, overall there is a sense of restraint as well as admirable purity of character. Layered Shiraz that builds incrementally across the palate, offering expansive blackberry, earthy, peppery notes with smoke and wood in the background.
