This limited-edition Glenturret 16 Year Old is named in hour of Fly, the distillery dog in 1905 and the 16 still men.
Glenturret is also the only one distillery that still turns their mash by hand with wooden rousers, just as they did back in 1905.
This Glenturret Fly Masters Edition is a limited release of 1,740 bottles which were first made available on World Whisky Day 2016.
Glenturret 16 Year Old Fly Masters Edition is one of Glenturret Distillery’s limited release single malts has been awarded the Liquid Gold Award in Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible 2017.
Receiving a total score of 96 out of 100, in his review Jim Murray also commented that this whisky was “the dog’s bollocks”.
Nose: Fragrant with cereal and lemon peel before vanilla arrives and delicious toffee apple.
Palate: Complex with an excellent balance. Richer fruits, red fruit, marzipan, mocha and cinnamon feature with spice starting to develop.
Finish: Honey, oak, orchard fruit and the spice from the palate increases throughout the finish.
Jim Murray has scored this Glenturret 16 Year Old Fly Masters Edition 96/100 in his 2020 Whisky Bible.
