Description

The 2004 vintage of Distiller's Edition from Glenkinchie.

Made with a secondary maturation in Amontillado sherry casks adding plenty of complex flavours.

After mellowing in a refill cask to develop the soft distillery character for a decade, a secondary maturation in a specifically chosen Amontillado cask wood ensures that all the good work continues.

Colour: Old Gold.
Nose: Rich and floral with honey, vanilla, mixed nuts, sherry and new leather. Give it some time and delicious caramel shortcake develops.
Palate: Stewed fruit, molasses and spice which contrasts with the drier, slightly smoky notes.
Finish: Medium to long with walnuts and toffee apples.

Beautiful, refreshing and smooth. This whisky improves on the 12 year old, the extra 2 years of ageing process seems to be responsible for this, this is an exciting drink with vibrant tones, complexity and an unmistakeable depth.

