Part of the second batch of Rare Cask Releases from Glenglassaugh distillery, this extraordinary 40 year old malt was and finished in a single Massandra Madeira puncheon hand selected by Billy Walker.
Distilled on 218 June 1975, cask 2180 yielded 588 bottles at 43.9% in September 2015.
Colour: Rich.
Nose: Warming black pepper and gentle hints of anise nicely complement apricot syrup and roasted orchard fruits.
Palate: Rich golden sultanas soften to crème brûlée. Mellow notes of toasted walnuts and hints of leather then follow.
Finish: Hints of leather add depth to the vintage finish.
