Glenglassaugh 1975 is a 40 Year Old whisky from a distillery which was closed for 19 years before 2005.

Hand selected by Master Blender Billy Walker, this Glenglassaugh Rare Cask, second batch was finished in a single Pedro Ximénez Sherry hogshead, yielding just 205 bottles.

The second batch is made up of eight single cask treasures. There are certainly no youngsters amongst this second batch, the eight new single cask whiskies vary in age from a 36 year old to a very rare 42 year old.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Cocoa dusted figs and dates nicely combine with cinnamon and gentle white pepper to give a pleasantly delicate warmth.

Palate: Gentle waves of delicious dark toffee flow over rich fruit cake and orange peel. There is also a hint of intriguing cigar box spice on the delicately sherried palate.

Finish: Not unlike the palate with the fruit cake heme continuing alongside the spice!
