21 year old single malt whisky from Glenfiddich, finished in casks which had previously been used to age Caribbean Rum.
The Gran Reserva is still finished in rum casks for four months but one difference is the presentation, it now has a more elegant presentation as befits its position towards the top of the distillery's regular range.
Glenfiddich 21 Year Old has exquisite and rich aromas of fudge and hints of ripe banana intermingle luxuriously on the nose, whilst complex flavours of toffee and spice combine to make things truly interesting!
Jim Murray rated this Glenfiddich a 86/100 in his 2015 whisky bible. Describing it as 'a much more uninhibited bottling with loads of fun as the mouth-watering barley comes in rolling in'.
Nose: Barley sugar, malt, dark brown sugar, orange peels, marmalade, manuka honey, rich chocolate and fresh banana.
Palate: Full, fruitcake, plenty of kicks from spices, buttery vanilla, malty. Oak.
Finish: Long, mochaccino and marmalade.
